@Rango the website still offline. which extension do you mean with Compare extension? i didnt install any extensions. i just installed the quickstarts package and added one produkt as a test.
i observed nearly the same behavior in the demo site. see the menu counter in:
joomla.vinagecko.com/templates/?template=vina_kenzo

The counter will count number of the product from current category and from all child categories.
Please check if you have any product from current category.
