But is it possible to tie this module into virtuemart search? so that the result page caches the items and displays the grid.

But we can use jQuery library and custom VirtueMart search results display in grid layout as our module.

I have just bought the Vina Grid Gallery for Virtuemart module.

However, I have now found that there is no facility to display price discount % or amount.

Our Featured Products, as with many other companies', are featured because they are discounted.

Our module display two price: $product->prices and $product->prices. It's the same with default module of VirtueMart.
