I second Ray's request for including an "alt" attribute in each image, for SEO purposes.

Until then I use my own jQuery script to add an "alt" attribute to all the image slider's images (including the thumbnails). The simple code for anyone interested is:

<script> jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('.vina-awesome-slider img').attr('alt', 'a list of keywords'); }); </script>

Thank you Vina for an excellent product. I like it and I use it.

Problem solved:
There is an issue with your file default.php: you doesn't include the javascript framework from joomla!

Please change:
.....
defined('_JEXEC') or die('Restricted access');

JHtml::_('jquery.framework', true, true);
$doc = JFactory::getDocument();
.....
